pViewer – A fast Image Viewer with minimal UI and features

pViewer is a Image Viewing application for Windows. It’s really fast and does it job with perfectly, both when it comes to starting up the application itself and then to display the next images.

It got a minimal UI which I like, no unnecessary bloated features that take up memory and extra time to load.
If you want to see the features and settings, just right-click somewhere inside the application to bring up the menu where you got a couple of features among other things and settings.

The reason I think pViewer was made with less features, whistles and bells than most other image viewer application is the loading time. I have not asked the programmer but I bet a dollar that pushing the performance of just displaying the images was his/her main focus.

So don’t you dare to put this application on nothing else than a SSD or a RAMdisc. 😉

It’s does pretty much anything at least I would expect from a application like this. Small and fast don’t really fit feature rich, but as for just viewing images it’s a good application.

But there’s one thing that annoy me so much. After installation it made the default icons for some of the Image-formats change to it’s own icon, which I’m not that fond of.
Whats the point of this? And it’s not even a setting to reset the icons to Windows standard icons and also not a choice when you install it, not one that I could find at least.

One great thing is that it’s Open Source and I really respect programmers that have been working hard with a application and made both it and the source free to the public!
